I will overwhelm 'serious fighter' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-bout match which will be shown live on Netflix.

British boxer Anthony Joshua said he will "dominate completely" the American and "overpower" his opponent as the pair confronted each other to build hype for next month's heavyweight fight.

Former two time world boxing king Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth mismatch - at Miami's arena on December 19th.

Boxer's Attitude

"I'm going to break his face and damage his physique. I'm here to prove my superiority," Joshua, 35, declared.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I'm going to seriously aim to injure him. That's my goal."

Respectful Exchange

Despite these statements, a relaxed Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - normally famous for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.

Jake Paul instead criticized ex Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and called him "not serious" after Ngannou rejected a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, criticized UK opponent Fury - and declined a large bet 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a victory for Paul.

"Jake Paul is superior to Fury - he showed up," Joshua said.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Fighter

Despite declaring he will punish Paul, Joshua declined to speak negatively about his rival's pugilistic talent.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he remarked.

Jake Paul's Background

Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has primarily fought mixed martial artists or declining opponents since turning professional.

He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in last year.

Commercial Success

Still, the novice is still one of the sport's greatest money-making draws, frequently receiving massive financial rewards.

Forecast and Belief

The 28-year-old anticipated a knockout win in round four or five and stated he would stop the long-awaited Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly being planned for two years from now.

"It will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul said.

Size Difference

As Joshua and Paul engaged in the traditional face-off, with their size difference evident, it emphasized just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is actually proceeding.
